Residence Nosticova is a truly delightful, romantic boutique hotel set near to all major Prague tourist attractions and yet still far away from the hustle and bustle of the modern city. Located at the end of a quiet cobblestone street close to the charming Kampa Park and the River Vltava, this 17th century residence is the place to stay if you appreciate historical charm, elegant comfort and an element of romance.
This five star boutique hotel is the product of two years of painstaking work by many highly skilled workmen and artists whose enthusiastic efforts have turned the old mansion, the Residence Nosticova Prague, into the luxury Alchymist Residence Nosticova, which combines high levels of comfort with historical charm.
The Alchymist Residence Nosticova in Prague, just like its sister hotel, the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa, takes its inspiration from the period of the Emperor Rudolf II. Prague of the 16th century was a centre of alchemy, mystical learning and art, and the court of Rudolf II teemed with alchemists, seeking to turn base metal into gold, and with art dealers trying to enrich the already extensive collections of the Emperor.
This devotion to history and art is more than evident in this boutique Prague hotel. The 16 different suites of this five star hotel are furnished with valuable antiques and works of art but what makes them truly unique is the fact that each of the rooms is named after a historical figure starting with Rudolf II, Tycho de Brahe and Arcimboldo on the first floor, moving up to, amongst others, Josef II and Mozart on the second floor, Karlštejn and Blanche of Valois on the third and culminating with the Imperial Suite Hradčany on the fourth.
The romantic, and somewhat mystical atmosphere of the Residence Nosticova is emphasised by the carefully selected lighting, the hand-picked pieces of interior decor and the astonishing decorative techniques, employed throughout the hotel and restaurant, evoking history and the mysteries of alchemy. The restaurant offers a superb dining experience and under the expert guidance of a French head chef, it serves some of the finest food in Prague.
